The end of 2017 brought lots of reasons to celebrate, now with the first week of this New Year our La Jolie Fête team has decided to throw a 'Mom'osa brunch + 26th birthday party for our hardest working boss babes! Join us as we share our tips + tricks on how to plan the perfect mimosa bar and let us know what elements you would include to make your own bar + brunch in the comments below!
This mimosa bar + brunch was a mix of a few of our favorite breakfast foods, sweets and bubbly! Besides a stunning display and refreshing drink station, a mimosa bar allows your guests to create their own color-infused cocktails while offering a low-maintenance serving option for the host/hostess. There are so many flavor combinations from fresh pressed juice and fresh cut fruit, the possibilities are literally endless! The juices we chose for this brunch were: strawberry peach, fresh squeezed orange, white grape + peach, strawberry orange and fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade. We paired these juices with strawberries, blueberries, orange slices and raspberries.
We found our juice decanters at HomeGoods, an amazing place to find glassware for any party (plus a million other things you weren't even planning on buying...seriously I spend so much time walking the aisles of the HomeGoods/TjMaxx/Marshalls trio). We then took to a mini DIY project for some festive glitter straws! We created these by cutting out heart shapes from glitter cardstock and hot gluing them to some gold + white paper straws. To finish it off, we cut small pieces of cardstock into miniature banners and wrote 'Drink Me'. Next, we set up the drink station by choosing some of our favorite glassware and placed them on the bottom shelf of our Ikea bar cart.
We LOVE a good tassel garland, it's all about the details ya'll! We paired this gold + white garland with a glittering 'Cheers' sign created from foam board and a little elbow grease! For this DIY, you will need to either print out a large phrase such as 'Cheers' or hand letter your phrase on a large piece of foam board. Next, carefully cut the phrase out of the foam board and lightly sand the sides with a light grain piece of sandpaper or a nail file. Lastly, use a paintbrush to spread glue (Mod Podge or Aleene's Original Tacky Glue are our go-to fav's!) across the phrase and cover with your desired color of glitter (or craft paint!). Pro Tip: Cover the glitter layer with an additional coat of Mod Podge to ensure that the glitter will stay in place instead of all over your floor as I have made the mistake of doing once or twice.
The final step of any successful mimosa brunch is to invite your favorite guests, in this case we invited a few of our best #mompreneurs and fellow #bossbabes! We have found a wonderful group of gal pals to network and collaborate with within the past year of launching La Jolie Fête and we are looking forward to an amazing year of success! Cheers babes!
